The ringers are a diverse group. Each one joined the Regina Bell Ringers at a different age and with different musical abilities. Today, they form a unique organization that blends tower bells and handbells. The common goal is to make music to be enjoyed by the public and by the ringers themselves.
Regardless of the current focus of the bell ringer, the training each one
received included sometime playing the "other" bells. The handbell ringers appreciate the physical footwork involved
in tower bell ringing and the fact each rehearsal is actually a public concert.
The tower bell ringers find performing in front of a live audience is much
different than performing in the ringing room. They also discover change
ringing can be done on the handbells. Cross-training
improves the skill and expertise of each ringer.
