Kiet Truong

Kiet was born in Cholon, Vietnam. She is a Traditional Chinese. She attended three years nurses training, graduating in Vietnam as a registered nurse. She worked there in the hospital for three years. For freedom she came to Canada in 1979. She became a Canadian citizen in 1983.

Kiet attended Central Collegiate in Regina. She studied Music Theory at the University of Regina under Robert Hall and music history from Dr. Bruce Lobaugh. She studied computer art from Jack Sures. Kiet won first place in an international competition. The contest was held in conjunction with an international conference held in Reno, Nevada.

Although Kiet is a Buddhist, she played the tower bells on Sundays and other special days for about seven years. Kiet studied handbells under Sandra Cosbey and tower bells under Wayne Tunison.
