In the protestant tradition the hymn tune Aberystwyth is associated with Matthew Bridges lyrics "Man of Sorrows, wrapt in grief, bow thine ear to our relief"

Because of the great acoustical differences between the Tuba and Tower Bells, this composition attempts to create a contrapuntal effect between the two qualities of sound, rather than a blending of the two to produce a unified whole.
