Carol Benesh (Keelo)

One of the more senior apprentices, Carol has been ringing the Darke Memorial Chimes (12 English bells) since 1996.  The tower bells are her first and only musical instrument (besides her voice).  Carol enjoys the more ‘volunteer’ aspects of belonging to the Regina Bell Ringers, like tours and mentoring the new apprentices.  There are also the tasks of cataloguing the tower music and art, creating and formatting the concert programs & advertisements.  Carol has reordered the accounting with the help of Knox Metropolitan professionals.  Carol discovered early in life her forte of data processing.  Show her a document, file, spreadsheet, database, program, picture, electronic data of any kind, tell her what you want, it becomes information, then knowledge.  It is done.  Time flies for her when she is on the computer as her family can well attest.

Carol has two lovely daughters, Jade and Azure, who are also involved in bellringing and are currently seeking the things in life that they love most (definitely not computer work J).

Bev Lundahl (Windy)

Bev’s musical training got off to an interesting start when she was twelve years old.  She practiced vigorously on an old pump organ at home on the farm, played her lessons for her teacher on the piano accompanied by the teacher’s eccentric one-eyed friend on a mandolin.   In spite of such odd beginnings she obtained grade four at the Royal Conservatory of Music later playing the organ at St. Paul’s United Church in Macoun for a few years in her teens.  As a recreation employee at Pioneer Village in the early 1990’s she was able to use her knowledge to accompany the sing-a-longs at the nursing home. She has been apprenticing on the bells for one year.  Bev has two children and works in an office in Regina.

Mercedees Lenger (Sadie Bug)

Mercedees began her apprenticeship on the bells on Sunday May 9, 2010 - Mother’s Day, also her seventh birthday and her Dad and new Mom’s anniversary.  She dedicates her music to her Mommy Jody in heaven.   She has been attending Knox Metropolitan United church with Grandma Bev since age three and began visiting the bell tower when she was four.  Mercedees who was born in Yorkton enjoys a large extended family and especially likes her outings to the country to visit relatives in rural and northern Saskatchewan – in particular her maternal Grandma Sheila in Nokomis as well as paternal Opa Lenger. at the fish camp.   She sings in a junior choir and does Austrian dancing.   Mercedees attends Rosemont School.

Elona Cook (Diamond )

Elona started her apprenticeship this year.

F. Wayne Tunsion

Wayne graduated in 1967 and once again mentors the apprentices for their first concert.
